Tomorrow's the day! It is finally time for our big project presentation! All the work we have done over the past 6 month will be presented. You are all welcome to be there and watch us present. All the info you need is here.
Why not also download our app on the facebook event and try it out? See you all tomorrow!
We are now entering the last 2 weeks of our project and it's time to wrap everything up. We had a small test-trial with a couple of teacher from the last workshop, where we gathered some feedback for the apps we created during these 2 semesters.
We are now putting everything together into one big app and focusing on the final presentaion the 15th of december!
Here are the promised update of our apps! We had an update meeting with our professor this morning and the above slideshow is the short presentation we gave. To sum up: we are on track with 3 almost-done-apps, and a cool tree house for our main menu. Next step is to implement some kind of teacher menu, work on instructions and also connect all apps to the tree house. Basicly do some finishing up touches on the gamification part. We are also planning a meeting with a few teachers to get input of our actual work, exactly when and where is not yet decided.
It has been a long time since the last update on this blog, but not to fear, we are stil here! Small updates are however frequently posted on our facebook-page: Link, so don't forget to follow us there.
A lot have happened since our last update. We held a station at Luleå Light festival where people of all ages got the opportunity to paint in VR by using HTC Vive. Also, our applications are really starting to take off. This week we are going to start connecting the applications with the tree house, which is our main menu. All of our three applications have some kind of gamification part, and we are currently working on a common scoring system. A more detaljed update on the application will be posted later this week.
Half of the time for the project has already pasted, and today we presented our results so far! We will now focus on our exams in other courses for the upcomming weeks. We do still have the Luleå Ljusfestival the 28/9 to look forward too.
Yesterday we had a workshop with MakerTjej where we taught girls at the ages between 10-15 how to make their own 3D-world in Unity.
New week, new challenges. This week is all about finishing the alpha versions of some smaller apps. In this picture is one of the apps we're working on. In this "VR-Room" you get some instruction about what object should be in what color and you need to match these to move on to the next level.
This is also the last week of sprint 2 so next monday we are presenting these alpha apps to our customer proffesor Parnes. Hopefully we will have around 4-5 smaller apps all in alpha to show him next week!
Today we had our weekly meeting with proffesor Parnes. We talked about what sort of project we are going to work on for the alpha that will be done in the end of this semester.
In the upcomming weeks we will have another workshop at MakerGirl and we will also visit Samuraj, a company here in Luleå that works on a project called ANNO 1500 in VR.
As for the app, we decided to divide our team in two. One group will work with creating an app focusing on making geometry less abstract using VR. The other group will work on speech comprehension using basic instruction and math, that you will have to complete, in VR
Last week we held a workshop together with some teacher here from Luleå. To read a summary of the workshop press here
Yesterday we had a workshop with teachers from a lokal school here in Luleå. Together we discussed some different ideas on how to use virtual reality as a tool to help in students education.
To see all photos from the workshop check them all out in our Facebook album.
Today we had our weekly update meeting with our proffesor Peter Parnes. We discussed the upcoming Workshop tomorrow so stay tune for picture from that.
Now that we created some different games for Cardboard and HTC Vive we will work on a gorgeous in-game environment, the graphic team is creating landscape and low poly objects to be used in our game.
Today we got some new tech that we will use to create an application for our project. This is Sophia painting in VR using a HTC Vive.
